New Cards December

Just before Yule I decided to make some new cards and I spent three evenings going through images and collecting little piles but whenever I tried arranging them onto a card I found myself blocked, or unhappy with the results. I was becoming quite frustrated so I decided to leave the cards and images alone for a day or two and when I came back to the cards I came up with these three. I really like the first card and I think it's a wonderful representation of creative thinking, and the way ... read more

Creatrix – Council

This card is always very powerful for me when I find it in my hands. I just need to pick it up for a second and feel the energy pounding. It's not a card I could leave out on my desk to motivate though - it's power lurks and chooses its' moments... Lost In Books

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Reader SoulCollage Card"][/caption] This card fell out of the box first which is amusing to me because Lost In Books is very relevant to me just now since I discovered LibraryThing and started cataloging my books. Take a peek at the site and you might see what I mean. It's so much fun dragging a pile of books off the shelves and rediscovering them one at a time, choosing personal tags for them ~ and then sneaking a peek to see who ... read more

Moving Forward

What to say after an attempted terrorist attack in Scotland? I mean do I blog about the foxes? (who have been hiding from the numerous thunder storms today) Do I witter about my new project? Do I carry anger over some of the bigotry I've read flowing from people's fear? Well thank whichever higher power you speak to, let's thank them for ineptitude. I wandered over to Create a Connection and found yesterday's challenge and it's feels like a good, positive way to begin July... Try Goal ... read more

Can of Worms

I have not been making new cards recently. It seems to come in cycles. I have three sets of images that are soon-to-be-born cards, but the arrangements haven't formed yet. They are ideas. But I am done with the mundane business book-keeping adventure that I have been on of late and I want to kick-start my creative life again... Description: This card was made months ago - it was the tenth card that I made. It was made intuitively and I remember enjoying the darker imagery that came ... read more

Allan – Community

Description: I noticed a few weeks ago that most of my cards fall into the Committee suit and so I began to collect images for this very special Community card. I have his permission to post it online. This is my first community card and I found it a very warm process to honour someone who is central to my life. Mother – Council

Description: When I made this card I was thinking about honouring the miscarriage I had last year but I don't think that is the way it turned out - which is something I love about this process! Ever since, she has sat in my deck and whenever I pick her up I think "Mother". So for now she fits into my Council suit as the gentle mother. Trapped by Procrastination

Description: I made this card a couple of nights ago. I intended to describe procrastination - something I am wrestling with just now. I found it easy to do the "I am the one who.." exercise but I found it challenging to consider what procrastination could give me, or what it wants from me. Doing those exercises has made me look at my procrastinating self from a different angle - perhaps there is a purpose for procrastination... Ice Cave

Description: This was the seventh card that I made in September 2006. It was the first card I made in my own home and I made it intuitively. I have not found it's voice until today when it fell out of my deck following a conversation with someone about Persephone. It's one of the cards I made in a larger collage and then reduced to fit my deck. I love the colours in the ice that, for me, are warm shades of blue. I love the princess dress but also the way this princess is not the classic ... read more

Muladhara – Root Chakra – Snake

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="275" caption="Muladhara Root Chakra SoulCollage Card"][/caption] This card took forever and a day to fall into place! This just confirms what I already know - I am not the most grounded person around :) Although that may be plainly obvious as I notice that the coiled snake I sense in Muladhara, my Root Chakra, is floating above "my" head in the card! SoulCollage® is the process, developed by Seena B. Frost, of creating a deck of collaged cards ... read more

Happiness

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="275" caption="Happiness SoulCollage Card"][/caption]

I am the one who is open to blessings I am the one who is kissed by beauty I am the vibrant colours of the rainbow I am light and airy

This is the 14th card I made and I just love it! It makes me smile whenever I see it. I was honoured when Anne Marie asked if she could include it in the November issue of her newsletter, Soul ... read more
