Making Space To Manifest

The Reaper SoulCollage Card

Returning from London, the first thing that I noticed was the hill behind our house had lost some of its vibrant colours. I had meant to take some photographs of the rich blankets of oranges, reds, yellows and browns but time moved on and now the colours are muted as the leaves drift on the earth. Things are ending and so beginning again, old leaves drop to the earth ... read more

I Am Ready To…

I am ready to...

... sit within the rainbow

... show myself

... be introspective in the limelight

... hold the boundary between myself and undesired clamour

Corvid Cheek

I have been to London several times, enough times that I can navigate myself around some areas without always needing a map - and can even be of help to resident Londoners who find themselves confused on the Tube (read one Londoner and technically it was the Overground - but I knew which train she needed and she didn't!). Until last Friday I had never been to the Tower of London. I have been *this close* to the Tower of London, I have photographed it ... read more

How It Is

I love the way I feel when I walk into the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern. Sometimes I wonder if I even need an installation at the other end, or if I could just be satisfied with the imposing hulk of space. What would I do with the space? How would I move in it? Would I start to build something? Today there is a big black box looming at the end of the hall. Half-term children are running and screaming underneath the huge steel structure, trusting the construction won't start to creak and ... read more

This Week I Twittered About…

Gemma had her last pack outing this morning and is now en-route back home to Aberdeen *sigh* temporarily I am dogless! # It appears that without a dog to speak to , I am reverting to talking to myself... # I hate it when I get home after midnight to 2 cryptic messages from a parental unit about "news" and can't phone til morning # It may be premature but I may be celebrating anyway... ! # Sometimes it doesn't matter how you say something, someone will always find a way ... read more

Fife Council ~ Failing the Environment

I have just received a letter in the post from Fife Council. The sole purpose of the letter is to request that we telephone them. They have our telephone number. Why do Fife Council make claims about being environmentally friendly when they are wasting resources (public money!) in such a ridiculous ... read more

CWU Striking To Prevent Royal Mail Modernisation…

CWU members voted to destroy small businesses and disrupt mail during the busiest time of the year by going on strike. I haven't seen a coherent explanation of exactly what they are striking about, and I strongly suspect some of them are still bearing a grudge about the expectation that they work a full shift for a full shift wage. The only reason I see coming up again and again is resistence to the planned modernisation of the ... read more

Hunter and Prey

A spider has taken up residence on our bathroom window, her web an ideal trap for the autumn midgies who seem to have descended on our garden in recent weeks. This morning I watched her dart across her web as one poor wee midgie made the mistake of entering our home and trespassing into her territory. Quick, decisive movements saw the beastie caught and immobilised before being parcelled up in a tight noose of silk. Later, as GemmaDog and the pack wandered near the Lammerlaws, we watched ... read more

But I *am* Living In The Moment – It is the moment that is the problem

"Did you ever think, when you held or looked at a beautiful pearl, that its origin was irritation? An oyster, in response to the irritating presence of sand within its shell, creates a thing of beauty." ~ Thomas F Crum I thought I had found the pearl birthed from the last piece of grit but it seems that I have just floated on the ebb to a different shore and inherited a new piece of grit. A second strike of lightning. I want to know what the thing of beauty is that this piece of grit ... read more
