Ada Lovelace Day ~ Sue Bailey

I only heard about Ada Lovelace Day moments ago via my Twitter stream. When I went to investigate further I discovered it was something close to my heart - a blogging event aimed at drawing attention to women excelling in tech stuff.

Well I'm all for promoting women excelling in any field because I think there's a massive imbalance in the world of role models - everywhere I look it's the stories of men that dominate.

As it turns out, the woman who tweeted about Ada Lovelace Day is the woman who fits my bill as someone who has inspired me in many ways and who embraces the technosphere with individuality and class... Sue Bailey.

I first "met" Sue in the realm of the Powerseller Forum on eBayUK, and her depth of knowledge of the platform is phenomenal - if Sue doesn't know it then no-one knows it, sometimes including the heads at eBayUK ;o)

Over the years we've spread our connection out over the wider Internet and we also met in person once. Aside from having a finger on the pulse of serious eBay/Internet selling, Internet marketing, SEO, Wordpress and blogging - and indeed owning the world's oldest LOLcat - Sue is funny, opinionated, creative, clever and generous with her time and knowledge.

I've been thoroughly inspired by her Wordpress adventures - she's one half of the brilliant Tamebay blog and Sue is responsible for the coding and design of that wonderful font of knowledge as well as filling it up with important news that keeps me more informed about the world I trade in than the people I pay fees to.

Sue has also been *there* when I've found myself stuck with my own Wordpress "issues" - like the day I managed to make the whole blog appear disappeared. A woman worthy of the title Blog Mum - and worth a visit if you need help with your blog
