The Daily Fox

Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes)

This morning sees blue sky and sunshine working to erase the last of the snow from the grass. Our fox pair were not caught on camera flirting in the garden and although they never seem to notice me at the window, I wonder if it is a sixth sense that moves them frustratingly behind fences and into the long undergrowth almost as soon as I get my camera organised...

But wait!

There are three of them!

One is settled in the overgrown plot just behind Skeleton Tree and I thought the other one was a few feet away curled up by a shed... but there's another one even further away under a tree... no! there's two under the tree!

I think the two under the tree are the kits from last year and this is the family group appearing together as an ensemble. The vixen is curled up enjoying the sun and the other three are now running about. There was a bit of fighting between two of them - again too fast for my camera slug.

That's it - no chance of concentration on work today! I need to figure out how to transport four foxes to my new and as yet undiscovered garden!

More foxes in my garden
