I had fun today

The last few days I have been feeling a bit of a failure because I let my recent routine slip. I was getting into all this negative self-talk about lack of consistency and failure and blah blah blah.
This morning I just decided to start again telling myself "you know the routine and you know it brings you good vibes so just get on with it quine." So I did - and today has been the best day of the year so far for creativity *and* for healthy eating and exercise. I pat myself on the back and grin.
Not only did I manage to show up at the elliptical, but I had my best session yet - and I felt fairly tremendous at the end... if a little pink and breathless. Having showed up at the elliptical and found magic, I then showed up at the page and when I couldn't think about what to write I asked myself what I could see in my mind's eye... a turquoise cabochon - from that I got three pages of scenes. I kept going past my hour target too
After lunch I got all fired up with the beads and made 10 foot thongs in a new colour and then I finally managed to drag out the polymer clays. It has been so long since I dragged out the clays but I do have a good excuse for that - the carpet in this room was brand new in August and I've been reluctant to get multi-coloured dots smeared into it. A good excuse, no?
The thing about polymer clay is I just *love* playing with it and so it bemuses me that I don't drag the clays out every day I don't have a carpet excuse... Today I just wanted to play with scrap clay for a while but the ideas were rushing through my mind like a river in spate and I'm going to have to journal about that so I don't lose them.
Anyway, I played with some junky clay and puttered around with the swirly thing I like to do and now I've got ten new beady things to go in the oven tomorrow. The yin yang pendants are to be thanked for all this creative clay play because I sold out of them the other day and needed to cut some more..
I'm especially taken with the reddish one which looks like a bloody universe and inspires me to create some sort of moon-time piece. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

I think my favourite is the dark one on the left…but I love them all!
What a lovely way of honoring your commitment to yourself and your splendid creativity.
Genie’s last blog post..Brand New Day
Sounds like a great day, and look at those great beads! I don’t do a lot of beadmaking, but I’ve always wanted to learn how to make those swirly lentils, love ‘em.
I can understand your reluctance to clay around new carpeting… mine is so old I don’t have to worry about it– in fact, colorful clay spots would probably be an improvement!
