Movement

The word movement came to me as my theme for 2009 when I was musing about some of my goals and I realised that they all involve moving from where I am right now. Simple as it is, one can only get to somewhere else by moving.
In my life this gets right down to the basics of actually moving where I sit, sleep and live. I try not to be depressed about the fact that the sky fell in on the world of finance approximately seven days after our For Sale board went up, but sometimes depressed is the best I can do. I know that we will get a sale when the universe is ready to move us - we have had lots of interest but I suspect the lack of crazy mortgage lending means people can't act on their interest.
So I imagine a day coming soon when I am stressed out by the movement of stuff to a new home, followed by the arrival of our life in storage - I cannot wait to reclaim my books! - and our movement into a new chapter of life.
Movement is also an essential part of my goal to raise £500 for WDCS and at the same time lose 95lbs. Gotta move it! A self-employed lifestyle can so easily become one without exercise and coupling that with anxiety and depression from other things means a lardy ass. Actually its my belly but it is too early for specifics. Today's movement meant getting on the elliptical for the first time in 2009 and racking up my best 30 minutes so far. I'm keeping a journal of how I go in each session and it is handy to have it in sight when I am pechin and sweatin to motivate me to beat the last session.
Today I cracked burning 500 calories. A little research tells me if I do that every day I will lose 1lb. I'm not sure how motivating that information actually is. I think I'm closer to an instant gratification seeker because I think that for all my effort today I should have dropped at least a stone. But at least I did it.
Movement is also part of the equation of my continued struggle to be a creative woman.Or is that to be a creative woman with tangible results? I am full of great ideas I just struggle to move them out of my head.
“The least movement is of importance to all nature. The entire ocean is affected by a pebble.” ~ Blaise Pascal
