How to give a compliment ~ part 1
One day @ and I were walking along Princes Street nattering to each other about this and that. I recall that I was trying to express my deep gratitude to both @ and the universe for him being in my life. He was being a little modest and saying things like "don't be silly", which may have been to do with the fact that he is modest, or it may have been to do with the fact that we were on Princes Street surrounded by one million confused tourists possibly recovering from what happens at one, or it may have been to do with the fact that I am quite good at being silly... but from my perspective I wasn't being silly at all, I was in earnest.
From my perspective, your see, there is The Time Before @ and then there is Life. The Time Before @ consists of long years of suffering due to something called Broken Picker Affliction. In other words I deserved a degree in falling completely into obsession (although at the time I could swear it was love) with any man who was a) completely wrong for me, b) emotionally unavailable, c) completely wrong for anyone, d) the result of longterm beer goggle wearing or e) basically a prick. If you are one of my exes reading this then of course you fall into category a).
As @ and I attempted to navigate our way across Princes Street without the aid of a crossing (and this was pre the ban on cars) I was consumed with trying to express to him that he was a wonderful gift to my life... and in my animated state I blurted out the following gem ~
