Only the atom bomb is worse than Big Brother
According to a survey by the Museums and Galleries Month 2008, the worst invention ever is the atom bomb and the second worst invention ever is reality TV. Apparently watching Jade Goody is worse for some people than capital punishment, the destructive presence of plastic carrier bags and the red shoe dance of credit cards.
My top five worst inventions:
- I agree - the atom bomb is the lowest of human endeavours, alongside weaponry in general.
- Laminate Flooring in upper flatted properties - another life destroyer that should be banned.
- Plastic carrier bags - I'm going to agree with this too.
- Junk mail
- Party political system

Agree with all yours but also have a couple of food related ones:
Carbonated drinks for me. The devil’s work and no mistake.
Hydrogenated fat: Modern poison.
I have to add back-up beeps to your list. Scourge of the devil!

I am unsure about carbonated drinks, does this include beer?
Seventh Sister ~ aye those beeps are really bad. Not too much of them where I am now, but I used to live next to a close with a restaurant and the delivery lorries were awful.
The Noise Abatement Society has a campaign on just now called The Silent Approach ~ I’m hoping they move on to laminate flooring next!
