Laughter is fleeting
as the storm clouds loom
and my shoulders sag
But it's laughter nonetheless
that you charm out of me
and the darkness lifts
Not for you do I need
to be a perfect woman
always smiling in the sunshine
Not for you do I need
to have every situation
licked
When all I have is nothing
and my tears blend with the rain
you keep holding on
For you'll be there
when I'm under black clouds
not just on sunny days
