Passion

Description:I love this card, I especially love the way the three larger images of a couple aren't quite kissing - the energy of the space between them is potent. This card, for me, is about passion and heat - the kind of heat that exists between new lovers and also that catches more familiar lovers off guard ;)Who are you?I am the one is passionateI am the one who is open to loveI am the energy between two peopleI am the one who is whole in the momentI am the one who takes and shares and ... read more

Boundaries

Description:This is the twelfth card that I made, way back in Autumn 2006. I often call it my "take no shit" card and it speaks to me most about boundaries, although sometimes it speaks about decisiveness. This is something that I am noticing more about my cards, especially ones that were made some time ago, that their meaning is fluid and can be totally different from one viewing to the next. So just for today, this card says the following...Who are you?I am the one who sets boundariesI am the ... read more

Cards From Gaia

Tonight I made two cards that seem to be different facets of the same voice... I was thinking about beginning journeys and set out to make two cards with images I found in only a handful of magazines... I didn't find any imagery about beginning journeys, unless the symbolism is that beginning a journey requires grounding, but I love these two new cards from the voices of Gaia. ... read more

Beginning The Journey

In beginning this process, I am discovering the usual Bluebeard voice telling me "you're doing it wrong" and as I type I think I'll need to do another journey just to deal with that voice - does it *ever* go away?I have to remind myself that with this type of thing, there is no wrong way - whatever comes up is just right for the moment... So far I have followed the prompts in the curriculum and the easy part is the journalling - I don't have too much trouble navel gazing with a pen. The pages ... read more

Journeying

I was catching up on my Kaleidosoul email reading when I discovered two things that have been monumental in my life in the last couple of days. In fact there is so much energy swirling around at the moment that I can't quite remember which *thing* I discovered first...I think it was Barb Kobe's Creative Journey Game, and the fact that by the time I discovered it all the spaces for the Kaleidosoul course were full. But having taken a look at her website it didn't take much for me to buy a copy ... read more

Anticipating Possibility

Today has been *one of those days* - by this I mean it has been one of those days where forces beyond myself seem to have converged on myself. It started before I was even awake, and this feels a little risky to share but what the hell it was just a dream ;)The Dreaming:The strongest image from the dream was a sense of betrayal or loss. There was a beautiful man (whom I have never known in waking or dreaming) and a sense of perfection and then there was a discovery that all was not as it ... read more

Quickening

Description:I made this card some time ago but this morning I awoke from a dream and the energy of the dream reminded me of this card. When I made the card, and when I've seen it since, it has simply been about "passion". Today the card speaks to me about the space between, the energy that two people create together in passion or love. The space just before the Quickening, or the Making Things Happen...Who are you?I am the one who sees you in the momentI am the one who loves you for everything ... read more

My Cultural Life

I have been tagged by the highly cultured and very funny MisssyM over the The Misssives and ordered, under threat of *one of those looks* to tell you about my cultural life...1. What am I reading at the moment?2. What am I listening to at the moment?3. What am I watching at the moment?1. I am reading American Gods (Author's Cut) by Neil Gaiman, Britain BC by Francis Pryor, The Roman Conquest of Scotland by James E Fraser and a book of knitting patterns for socks.2. I am trying very hard not to ... read more

Polymer Clay Day

I am having problems with my voice - when I play back recordings of myself I sound like my sister. This is not to say there is anything wrong with my sister's voice, it is just very odd to hear myself sounding like her. So the dictaphone experiment continues but with no results I am willing to share until I have overcome my sense of loss over my sense of uniqueness *grin*.The photo below is of a bead I made today. It isn't a very clear photo because I couldn't be bothered to set up the light ... read more

A Beady Day

Today I felt the Quickening in my energy as my moon time ended and although it cycles around each month, I always embrace it anew. So many ideas and thoughts are coursing in my mind and I want to split myself into ten people to bring them all to fruition. This is when I need to be mindful that I don't get drawn in so many directions that I end up standing still.I spent the day organising my orders ready to post tomorrow, and also making lots of foot thongs - I sold out just before Yule and I'm ... read more

Sock it to me

Does it count as creative today that I finished my sock after midnight? :)I have not yet begun its partner, and I am in a quandry over whether to start knitting from the point in the wool where I snipped, or to try and make a pair of socks with matching stripes.I am LUCKY that these are the things that occupy my mind.I suppose the way I ripped into my parcel from a book shop was quite creative. And yes I know that I was ranting about *stuff* the other week, and so to go shopping so soon after ... read more

More is less

I haven't written about resolutions yet, although a few have been popping into my mind. The thing about resolutions is that they always seem to involve LESS of, well pretty much everything. I think that's why so many fall by the wayside long before we are toasting Burns - and maybe the wee dram in that glass is the final symbol of the downfall...My theory about the universe, and the human psyche, is that it/they respond much more to, well, MORE.So this year my style of resolution is all about ... read more

The Old Washer Woman

The Winter Goddess is said to dance around the tops of hills, it is said that her home is on top of Ben Nevis. She goes by the name of the Cailleach, or Carlin in Scots, and there are many places that carry stories of her exploits.Beneath the Paps of Jura, the cauldron of the Corryvreckan spins and swirls and it is here that the Cailleach washes her plaid. When her woollen cloak is clean and white she lays it across the land...She has been washing her cloak this morning and I am watching her ... read more
