Hogmanay Reading
Now that I have quite a collection of cards, I thought it might be interesting to use a Tarot layout for a reading. I chose the Celtic Cross as it's the spread I use most frequently... The cards: Significator: Rendering the Predator On my mind: Creativity Obstacles: Reaching Tranquility Past: Fat Self Loathing Present: Between the Worlds Immediate Future: ... read moreNew Cards December
Just before Yule I decided to make some new cards and I spent three evenings going through images and collecting little piles but whenever I tried arranging them onto a card I found myself blocked, or unhappy with the results. I was becoming quite frustrated so I decided to leave the cards and images alone for a day or two and when I came back to the cards I came up with these three. I really like the first card and I think it's a wonderful representation of creative thinking, and the way ... read more
If You Don’t Agree With It – Sack It
This seems to be the message from the corridors of power this week after Aberdeenshire Council sacked Martin Ford. 10 people voted in favour of Mr Ford, 26 people voted against him and 29 abstained, so you don't actually need a majority vote to get what you want these days. In the spirit of Aberdeenshire Council, I am going to use my majority vote of 1 and sack all the things I don't agree with: Laminate wood flooring in upper flats Donald Trump George Sorial and his ... read more
Reading
As a way of re-connecting with my cards, I decided to do a three card reading. I closed my eyes and focused on my question and then chose three cards from the face down deck. My question: Where does motivation come from? I laughed as I turned over the first card and kept smiling as the spread unfolded. The immediate message from the first card was "relaxation and meditation are missing from your life!" As I looked at the spread, I realised I had two cards that I've never really ... read more

I am the one who has been thrown to the elements I am the one who is tangled and broken I am the one who lies in the depths I am the one who is un-loved I am the one who waits I am the one who rises again I am the one who lifts a heart I am the one who beats the drum I am the one who knows the rhythm I am the one who ... read more
Salmond Met With Trump Golf Team The Night Before Ministers Called In The Application…
"Mr Salmond is forbidden to take part in the planning process."Salmond's Meeting with Trump Team This is not my opinion, it is written into the role of First Minister and should be adhered to by anyone holding the role of First Minister. Since Alex Salmond has been very vocal this week in demanding Wendy Alexander resign over allegations of sleaze, I would like to ask Alex Salmond to resign because it seems to me that his actions are just as questionable. Mr Salmond says ~ "As first ... read more
*Stuff*
I have been thinking about *stuff* today, actually I've been thinking about *stuff* for some time. I mean I seem to be on a constant collision course with *stuff* - tidying it, organising it, de-cluttering it, recycling it, getting depressed about it and wondering just how we manage to accumulate it. I don't even buy that much, aside from books so I'm really not a big offender in the shopaholic consumer field. This year I have donated bags and boxes of *stuff* to charity in an attempt to ... read more
Martin Ford Speaks About Decision To Reject Trump Plans
Original 106 Aberdeen - Martin Ford Podcast This is a very interesting piece that was broadcast this morning. It is clear that the media in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire is biased - listen to the interviewer interrupt Martin Ford as he speaks which is yet another form of bullying. There is absolutely no need to build on the SSSI and the importance of the SSSI is the major reason this application should be refused. The issue of building on the SSSI is of importance to everyone in the UK - because ... read more

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Bass Rock Firth of Forth"][/caption] We have been enjoying the beauty and solitude of the North Berwick beach recently. Here the Bass Rock shows herself nude, without the mystical white veil of 140,000 gannets that live and breed on the island between February and October. It is an eerie sight to twiddle with the cameras at the Scottish Seabird Centre and find little more than bare rock... But look to the other cameras and you will see ... read more
Strange Happenings In The Corridors Of Power
Well the controversy about the sand dunes at Menie Estate continues. Quite why people think it is OK to ignore the SSSI status of this site is something that concerns me because this is not just about Donald Trump, this is about the conservation of our natural habitat all over these islands - if the SSSI status of these dunes is ignored then how many more developers will argue their right to build on them? Now the Scottish Government have "called in" the plans, and Martin Ford is facing a no ... read more
NaNoWriMo ~ Yes, No, Maybe…
Well I didn't "win" - win being the completion of 50,000 words in the 30 days of November. But for myself, I think I made a pretty good effort. In the end I had a total of 31,584 words written over 15 actual writing days. So if I had managed to get to the page every day then I would have been laughing all the way to the finish line. But that is my perennial problem - actually getting to the page. On the days that I woke up, wrote Morning Pages and then went straight to the writing software ... read more
Is Aberdeenshire Council Corrupt???
Regular readers know my feelings about Donald Trump and his plans to annihilate a sand dune system to turn it into a golf resort resplendent with a monstrous hotel that would blight the landscape, hundreds of houses and some condo towers. The fact that these sand dunes are now a rare type of eco-system and have SSSI status seems to be ignored by Trump, his organisation and various people in Aberdeenshire. It was a short moment of celebration when it was announced that the infrastructure ... read more
