Not Hovering

Grey Heron
The best days are sometimes the ones that don't resemble the plan at all...
The plan was to lend our support to the two week trial of a new Forth crossing - taking the hovercraft from Portobello to Kirkcaldy and back again. Fortunately demand was so high that our only option was to stand in a queue for 2-3 hours. I say fortunately because this is only a two week trial to see if the venture is viable, and I really want them to decide to go ahead! If commuters take this up then the number of cars crossing the Forth bridge every day could be considerably less - and that can only be a good thing.
Anyway, there was this moaning moo standing in front of us bitching because, well basically because she wasn't getting on the hovercraft IMMEDIATELY! She was doing my head in and that helped us decide that we could wander off and go and see a movie and think about coming back later.
We made our way to Ocean Terminal and took in a screening of Die Hard 4.0. Now if you are looking for thought-provoking depth then choose something else. If you are looking for classic John McClane action and humour then grasp onto almost the edge of your seat and let the lights go down. I thought it was fun, a few great lines and Bruce Willis looked great
Afterwards we went out to investigate the bus back to the hovercraft and discovered that there was still queuing at the terminal. We decided to save it for another day and go for some pizza before we headed for home via Lochend Park.
I took 174 photos! And I finally got something I have wanted for a long time - some great pics of a heron. Whenever we have been before, I had my old camera and/or the herons were hiding up in the middle of the loch but today one of the herons was very close to the edge and stood around for about five minutes allowing us some great shots. So a very very pleased bird lady today.
