One Hundred

Pathworking

Pathworking

To mark my one hundredth post to this blog I was going to post a list of one hundred things I want to do before I die - but so far I've only written down 86. I'm not sure what that says about me... either I'm happy with my lot, or lacking imagination or perhaps some of the 86 bullet points are cover-alls and I could be more specific.

Writing one hundred posts to a blog is a small landmark in the big scale of things, but it's a satisfying one for me. I'm a hopeless cause as far as unfinished projects go, so perhaps a blog is an ideal project because it is free to meander and there's no definite ending point to aim for.

When I started the blog I had no idea where I wanted it to go, I had no readers and I kept hearing a lot of negative things about blogging.

Well I still have no idea where I want it to go, I have a few readers and my experience of blogging is a positive one. It's sort of like a magical web gently weaving throughout and across the planet. I've found some very inspiring voices - and here I will give special credit to Misssy because, well, to put it simply... they paid attention to me! They also blog regularly and I admire their momentum. I admire quite a lot about them actually. Here I am writing every day, painting pictures, taking photographs and in part because of the encouragement of a couple of very different voices. Thank you :)

There are other friends who have given me inspiration - the foxes, mice and Crow. The foxes haven't been too visible recently and I'm hoping they haven't moved away. We've had no more mice which I have to say is a good thing, and Crow is still the ever present sentry overseeing all the bird visitors and other action. Over the last couple of weeks he has been rejoined by his wife and their raucous child. It's fun to watch the family dynamics, and I rather like the incessant noise the youngster makes as it figures out how to be a crow and establishes its' place in the world.

I love crows too. Unfortunately here in Illinois we’ve lost a lot due to West Nile virus, so I hardly see any around any more, which is very sad. Thanks for sharing your photos, your painting and your wonderful words and memories.

I love your photos and the painting you did of the crow is excellent.

I agree, the blog world IS like a magical web weaving its way around the planet … it has done me so much good too. And now you have another regular reader – me! ;-)

The TSLO group looks interesting – I looked at the link but, apart from exhibiting in this year’s ‘Memories’ Show, what else do they do? What do YOU join in with? Keen to hear more…

franscud ~ have just blown some protective kisses out to the crows. I cannot imagine life without crows!

elizabeth ~ so far I have only exhibited in this year’s show wityh TSLO, although I went to see last year’s one. They have a meesage board which is a quietly supportive space for artists, and they are hoping to create more events and grow the organisation.

For me it was just enough to set myself the task of Actually Having Work for this year but I am hoping to use the forum regularly as there are some wonderful people there :)

well, I have been away too long – you are throwing me wonderful words and I have been missing them (I have a good excuse: travel).

I do love the blog world. It so fits my life and I miss the time I had before the part-time job to spend on the web “visiting.” And I do get out just not as often.

Just so you know, it is a grand pleasure to have your blog in my life too! and your photos are always amazing!
