Who Will It Be?
Apparently the world was watching as Scottish people went to the Polls yesterday, so it's a real shame that chaos reigns and democracy is called into question.
I witnessed resounding discriminatory comments on one forum from a poster who believes that Scotland should not seek Independence - apparently we are stupid based on the fact that we live north of the border. Oh well. For me, looking at voting trends it is clear there's a marked difference in political outlook between Scottish and English voters. The English elections have demonstrated a massive swing to the Conservatives, whereas the Scottish vote is a hot heat between Labour and the Scottish Nationalist Party.
Whatever your politics, if you believe in democracy then how can you view it as fair to demand that Scottish people be governed by a party that is the least popular of the "big four" in Scotland?
Disappointing, although not as disappointing as the failure to provide thousands of postal votes, is the lack of Green votes. With the invasion of bulldozing profiteers like Donald Trump, I think the environment needs more defenders - there's little point in gaining Independence if the corporations have covered the land in concrete.
