Finding Water

I've returned from a week in the Lake District in England full to the brim with experiences, memories, sights, sounds and ideas. I took my new toy - my partner bought a new camera and I snaffled his old one and I took 358 pictures, some of which I like...

I bought some new pencils and one evening I sketched the Gemmadog and let myself explore with graphite. I realise that I don't even know how long it's been since I picked up a pencil and sketched and I was happy with the results.

It was a week long Artist Date with two beautiful Artist Walks thrown in for good measure. I feel inspired, relaxed and primed...

A while ago, I bought a bunch of paper with the intention of making my own sketchbook - tonight I sat down and made one from scratch. For once I didn't just imagine doing a cool task - I actually did it. Now I have a crisp sketching book waiting to get beaten up, tattered and filled with observations. I am literally turning over a new leaf.

Morning Pages are going well - I have not missed a single day! I am finding the insights tumbling over each other and the brain drain freeing. I'm following Finding Water in a slightly higgledy piggledy fashion but I'm not giong to care about whether I'm doing it right since my artist is re-emerging and stretching her muscles and actually Making Stuff.
