Donald Trumped?

Those of you who know me will know my love of exploring the ancient and sacred sites of Scotland. Well I have never claimed to know every site - but it's a lifelong project finding and visiting them all. Of course some of them are so well hidden from view that you barely notice the dip in the turf in some places - and they seem to be less important than the great circles, huge menhirs and stunning Pictish symbol stones.

But it seems that there may be some undiscovered sites that will prove to be important in shaping the future of the North-East of Scotland, and perhaps the country as a whole. Ian Shepherd, principal archaeologist at Aberdeenshire Council, believes the sand dunes that Trump has ear-marked for development into a golf course, resort and housing development are a prime site for relics left by Stone Age hunter gatherers. Shepherd has lodged recommendations with the council that a survey be undertaken prior to any permission for development being granted.

More here.

I have written about Trump's plans previously in my blog, including details on how to object to the application, here, and here - objections are not limited to residents of the North East, or indeed Scotland!

Oh, good job – I’ll have to send something off tomorrow (since it’s evening and Husband is ready to go out to dinner). I’ve just fired off a letter to the local about a police officer shooting a 20something at a traffic stop and oh gee whiz the prosecutor has muzzled everyone until an investigation is had. What? I’ll just bounce on over to Trump next.
