Ice Cave
Description:
This was the seventh card that I made in September 2006. It was the first card I made in my own home and I made it intuitively. I have not found it's voice until today when it fell out of my deck following a conversation with someone about Persephone. It's one of the cards I made in a larger collage and then reduced to fit my deck. I love the colours in the ice that, for me, are warm shades of blue. I love the princess dress but also the way this princess is not the classic victim who is rescued - she is self-sufficient and happy to connect with the deep. The lily speaks of the growth that is found if one approaches the Underworld well. The candles signify that such a journey is sacred and the naked woman is surrendering herself to the lesson.

Gateway to the Underworld SoulCollge Card
Who are you?
I am the one who enters the cave of ice with confidence.
I am the one who is open to connecting with the deep waters.
I am the one who is not afraid to visit the Underworld.
I am the one who lights the sacred journey.
I am the one who actively surrenders to the journey.
I am the one who finds growth in the lesson.
I am the one who sees the light at the end of the tunnel.
What do you have to give me?
I give you a doorway to the Underworld. I remind you to look below and seek the lesson. I give you growth that nourishes you.
What do you want from me?
I want you to go below the surface with poise and purpose.
SoulCollage® is the process, developed by Seena B. Frost, of creating a deck of collaged cards from found images—cards that are arranged in suits for the primary purpose of self-exploration and self-acceptance. SoulCollage® cards are made from original purchased art (e.g., art published in magazines, calendars, books, cards, etc.) and personal materials (e.g., photos). SoulCollage cards are not to be sold, traded, or bartered and are to be reproduced only for the personal use of the maker of the card.

I love the story of Demeter, Persephone’s mother – her strength, her despair, her wrath. As an Aries Mother I think I have always identified with her with my own kids, and I watch my daughter with her son do the same: cross her with reference to her son and watch teeth and claws come out. And I know just where she got that.
This card it lovely. All your cards are lovely. I need to make some more cards.
And talking of hibernating bears as I work my way down your blog – this is a wonderful image of the depths!
Well done indeed!
