The Dream

I was in a room with a woman who was going to teach me a shamanic dance, there was one other woman there. We spread out and there was a circle of energy between the three of us. We were in a large room with white walls and a natural wooden floor. There were cushions round the edges of the room and beautiful art on the walls. The room is similar to a vision of a Great Room that @ and I have as part of retreat centre we want to build one day in the future...

The teacher began to rattle and give instructions. I can't remember what she said, but her voice was strong and powerful, commanding. I started to dance and rattle and the three of us moved to the rythm we created and we began to raise energy. I could see our energy as three beams of light emanating from each of us into the centre of the circle. The beams were made up of streams of light in many colours twisting and pulsing. As we danced and rattled we made the beams rise and they began to spread to meet each other and form a cone. I could feel the energy and it was very powerful.

Then a presence appeared beside me. I tried to focus on the dance but this dark presence started rattling in a way that just didn't fit with the three of us - like the presence was intent on disturbing us. I kept my focus on the dance and when the new rattler failed to disrupt me it took physical form and I knew there was a woman there. She started to encroach on my dance space and I really tried to concentrate and when she couldn't put me off that way she simply lurched in and nudged me with her hip. I turned to look at her and her face was vague, shadowy, but she looked like the woman who lives upstairs from me.

I turned back to the dance with the intent of focusing on the dance and not allowing her to distract me but she kept butting into me and then she started rattling in my face. I had to move and I tried to dance away from her but she just kept on and on following me. I could see that the cone was broken although the other two women were dancing and indicating that they were supporting me. I left the dream with the sense that I needed to learn a dance to outwit the noisy little bitch and also frustration and thoughts of "why can't she just leave me alone?"

My thoughts

This is clearly a predator dream. It resonates with me on many levels. The first thought is that the annoying woman represent the woman upstairs whose noise disturbs me and the frustration that when she starts I have nowhere to go within my home to get peace. But I also think this rattling woman is my own predator who harangues me as I'm trying to spread my creative wings, or who distracts me when I'm trying to manage my time more destructively... so this dream is acknowledging predators outside and also inside me...

I was going to do a drea re-entry today however I am going through a period of ZERO MOTIVATION - and even as I type this I see the annoying rattler could be my own Procrastination.

    wow – you could spend hours doing a dream expansion with that one – have you ever? (is that the same as a dream re entry?) It’s a Jungian thing where you talk with dream persons: ask with major hand, answer with minor hand (or, in my case, just type whatever comes since that’s faster and my hand doesn’t cramp). Love the card. It seems to hold that same energy – the rocks or cracks or whatever it is on the right hand side and that eye..so direct yet unfocused. You really got that dream down!
