Letter to Edwina Currie
"They are slags." "They are witches." Dear Edwina, These are the words that you chose to utter during a performance on Question Time. And I ask you - how does this make you any better than Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd or Jo O'Meara? Watching the show and the subsequent fall-out, I felt that people like you were so horrified and self-righteous because you were looking in a mirror - Big Brother was just showing reality, after all. When you let your mouth spout the name-calling in ... read more
Donald Trumped?
Those of you who know me will know my love of exploring the ancient and sacred sites of Scotland. Well I have never claimed to know every site - but it's a lifelong project finding and visiting them all. Of course some of them are so well hidden from view that you barely notice the dip in the turf in some places - and they seem to be less important than the great circles, huge menhirs and stunning Pictish symbol stones. But it seems that there may be some undiscovered sites that will prove ... read more
Allan – Community
Description: I noticed a few weeks ago that most of my cards fall into the Committee suit and so I began to collect images for this very special Community card. I have his permission to post it online. This is my first community card and I found it a very warm process to honour someone who is central to my life. Procrastination
I have been noticing my inner dialogue recently is tending towards harsh. I find myself accusing me of procrastination - I even made a SoulCollage card about procrastination. There are a couple of tasks within my business that I am having trouble motivating myself to just do, and I even find myself doing the guilt thing because I don't write here every day. But you can't force it, right? Why do we tend towards the negative? A wise woman told me last year that it's hard to motivate yourself ... read more
Mother – Council
Description: When I made this card I was thinking about honouring the miscarriage I had last year but I don't think that is the way it turned out - which is something I love about this process! Ever since, she has sat in my deck and whenever I pick her up I think "Mother". So for now she fits into my Council suit as the gentle mother. Trapped by Procrastination
Description: I made this card a couple of nights ago. I intended to describe procrastination - something I am wrestling with just now. I found it easy to do the "I am the one who.." exercise but I found it challenging to consider what procrastination could give me, or what it wants from me. Doing those exercises has made me look at my procrastinating self from a different angle - perhaps there is a purpose for procrastination... Ice Cave
Description: This was the seventh card that I made in September 2006. It was the first card I made in my own home and I made it intuitively. I have not found it's voice until today when it fell out of my deck following a conversation with someone about Persephone. It's one of the cards I made in a larger collage and then reduced to fit my deck. I love the colours in the ice that, for me, are warm shades of blue. I love the princess dress but also the way this princess is not the classic ... read more
Dream – Annoying Rattler
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Waning Moon SoulCollage Card"][/caption] The Dream I was in a room with a woman who was going to teach me a shamanic dance, there was one other woman there. We spread out and there was a circle of energy between the three of us. We were in a large room with white walls and a natural wooden floor. There were cushions round the edges of the room and beautiful art on the walls. The room is similar to a vision of a Great Room that @ and ... read more
Nine Days Too Long

Inspiring Spirals
Yesterday a friend told me that I inspire her to create something every time I share something I have made. A powerful compliment! It started me pondering again about something I have been observing recently regarding creativity... There are times when creativity needs to be nurtured in the dark, alone, shielded from outside influences. There are also times when it needs to be nurtured in the light, put out there and shared - not just because creativity is something to be celebrated but ... read more
SoulCollage Challenge – Future Self
I made this card in response to Anne-Marie's SoulCollage Challenge - Future Self.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="316" caption="Future Self SoulCollage Card"][/caption]I am the one who has a beautiful smile I am the one who exercises I am the one who rejoices in my body I am the one who relaxes I am the one who writes I am the one who meets targets I am the one who manages ... read more
Becoming
[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="316" caption="Future Self SoulCollage Card"][/caption] See this is why I don't make resolutions... because it gets to the 5th of January and already they have fallen by the wayside and the critic starts to chant... So obviously the "I'm going to blog every day" thus far didn't come to pass - but I have a good excuse (always have a good excuse!) in that I have been very busy fulfilling orders since the shoppers are still shopping (YAY!). I have read ... read more
