Reflections
[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="132" caption="The Maiden Stone"][/caption]
Where to begin when you reflect on a whole year? At the beginning I suppose... I started the year with a miscarriage which isn't really the best way to start anything really. Looking back, much of the first half of the year seems shadowed by the aftermath - not just the grief and confusion and emotional side, but the physical rollercoaster my body travelled. I had to learn to ... read moreContradictions
I am increasingly disturbed by comments from UK politicians praising the decision to execute Saddam Hussein. Since capital punishment is illegal in the UK, I find it contradictory for people like Margaret Beckett to speak in a way that seems to cross the line into supporting state murder. Hussein was executed in the middle of the night. I am not surprised to read the news - but I am disgusted at this action. In no way do I support Saddam or the legacy of his political life - but I do not ... read more
Contrast?
Description This is the third card I made and it was made intuitively. It is one of the cards in my deck that I call "the odd cards" because I am never quite sure of their meaning, or if they really have a fixed meaning. I found it difficult to write the "I am the one who..." exercise below. I do like the drama of the red cloak, the fiery sparks and the contradiction between the industrial setting at the bottom and the shoal of krill at the top. Perhaps this card is about just that - ... read more
How Green Is Your Bleed?
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Menstruation SoulCollage Card"][/caption]
I am feeling lethargic today. I have a pile of orders to send out and there are loads of things I could be doing, but so far I am only coping with drinking tea and reading blogs. It's the natural slump after menstruation where I feel like an elastic band pulled taut - I'm doing nothing but I can feel the potential energy burst lurking. Maybe I will ping ... read moreThe Z List
Following on from The W List, here is The Z List - I'm tempted to write something about an X List but the hilarity of my past doesn't really help expose bloggers. As with the W List, copy and paste the list into your blog and add a few of your favourites and watch as more people begin to find your blog - and enjoy finding new blogs to read. Rendering The Predator
Description: This is the second card that I made during the annual women's gathering I attend. This card came together with a little intent. The main image had several words and I decided to flout the SoulCollage teachings a little and leave a single word in there - mainly because it amuses me to see how positive my outlook on life is becoming! The dark balloons are one of my favourite elements of the card because they represent "rendering the predator" (a concept from Clarissa Pinkola ... read more
The W List
Tizzy (1989-26/12/2006)
The W List was begun by Tammy Vitale, based on the Z List started by Mack Collier. The general idea is to give link-love to your favourite blogs - Tammy gives a good overview here. The W List is "by women, for women" :) I have grabbed Tammy's list (thank you for including me!) and added some of my favourites. So feel free to grab this list and add your favourites (not your own though!) to it...read more
Storyteller
This is the first SoulCollage card that I made. It was made intuitively and I took a little while to realise what it meant, although I find that it means different things from time to time... [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400" caption="Storyteller SoulCollage Card"][/caption] Who are you?
I am the one who hears the stories of women. I am the one who listens to the ancient stones, to the myths and to herstory. I am the one who spins words and ... read more

Exploring Red
I have been exploring red in doodle drawings, SoulCollage, meditation and this is also the phase leading up to my Red Moon... The first part of this journey began when I made this SoulCollage card: [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="306" caption="Muladhara SoulCollage Card"][/caption] This card was one of those cards I began with intent and then took a long time to finally glue down the images. I had collected a large pile of red images, snakes and dragons - and eventually whittled ... read more
More on Trumping Trump!
Thank you "anonymous"!!! :) Quote - Mr Trump added that if there was any suggestion from residents that his plan was not welcome, he would go somewhere else. "I am doing this to a large extent in honour of my mother," he said. "But if people do not want this I will go elsewhere." Three Card Reading
Tonight I tried a Three Card Reading, as suggested by Anne Marie on her Inner Surprises blog. I spent a little time deciding on a question, and then I sat with my deck and focused on the question: How can I be more productive?
