Is creating "beautiful art" more important than the process of creating?

That's the question today from the Imagination Prompt... and I thought about all the hours I spend doing "something else", all the hours that drift by and nothing new is made. I thought about all the times I imagine making something new and the ways I put it off until tomorrow.

It's been such a long time since I grabbed some raw clay and made something, such a long time since I grabbed some raw clay and just played. So I took the Pressure To Create A Masterpiece off and grabbed some scrap clay and started conditioning it - warming it, kneading it and rolling it and then I chopped it up into a thousand pieces and squished it together again and let the colours blend. I love playing with the clay this way because I never know what I'm going to end up with and I rarely have a disaster.

I'm not really sure what I will do with the pieces I made with the scraps but whilst I was kneading and twisting my synapses started sparking and I felt alive and I remembered what I often forget - that it's the PROCESS I love and the end result is a bonus.

I love your daily thoughts, and this one is so true. Remember, anything worth doing, is worth doing badly! If we just wait for the perfectionism to occur, we end up never doing, it is more important to just do it, and not worry about whether it is a masterpiece, it’s the joy of creativity. And you are a joy!
